Starting Point
You will first need to get transport to Yangdi. Local buses do the trip from Yangshuo regularly and cost 5.50 Yuan. You will begin your hiking tour here. Walk along the bank of Li River.

Along the way you witness scenes that transported us back in time; farmers walking their Water Buffalo along the river's edge, men casting their hand sew nets out onto the water in hopes of catching fish, simple watercraft made of bamboo poles tied together.

Every turn of the trail brings an endless procession of the dramatic rock formations.  You will pass numerous ones that were packed like sardines that disected the limestone cliffs and hills. Locals still preferred to travel by bamboo raft and now and again you would see a water buffalo emerge from the depths onto dry land. The boatman described it as the most beautiful place in the world (comes close) and there were countless boats zipping up and down the river.

Entrance Fee
You need to pay the 16 Yuan entrance fee which also covers the use of three local ferries to cross the Li River.   If you are tired of trekking, or need First Aid support for emergency help, the bamboo rafting to Xingping is the only choice, it takes about 90 minute, and cost is RMB 100-150.

How long is the treking
The walk takes as long as you want, but anything from 3 to 5 hours is the normal rate. During the walk, you will need to cross across the river three times as the path on the side you are on ends and continues on the other side. You will go past small villages such as LangShi and Shangtong, and observe rural life at its best.

The destionation is Xingping, a small fishing village, comes into sight. Your hiking tour finishs here. Transfer to Yangshuo by local bus.

This Yangdi to Xingping hikking trip is a favorite with everyone who does it. The hike follows paths which are beside the Li river. This section of the river is regarded as the most spectacular of the Li River.

Rest station en route
A young lady has set up a small guesthouse along the way and makes an ideal place for a short rest or if you want a bit of solitude, you can also stay the night.

Bus back to Yangshuo
You can get back to Yangshuo on the local buses and cost 10 Yuan.
