The International Kite Festival will be held in Weifang of Shangdong Province from 20th to 25th April.

The festival is held annually since started in 1984. During the festival, other folk traditions are also included, such as lantern shows, skyrocket-bombing in a way to present the traditional drama spots.

In fact, Weifang began to hold kite activities in 1930s. Many kite-makers are invited to give kites shows abroad since the foundation of People's Republic of China. In 1989, the International Kites Association was founded in Weifang.
