Cisco will become a senior sponsor of the 2010 World Expo Shanghai after signing an agreement Wednesday with the Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau.

Cisco is the first IT senior sponsor for the Expo for data network products and solutions.

Under the sponsorship agreement, the Expo will take advantage of Cisco technologies. Cisco will also provide the Shanghai Expo with core network equipment as well as products and services.

"With Cisco's sponsorship, the 2010 Expo will be able to enjoy access to a cutting-edge communications platform,'' said Zhong Yanqun, Party secretary of the Expo bureau.
