Sichuan Attractions Damaged

Sichuan Attractions Damaged    2008-06-21

Sichuan attractions including Dujiangyan and Sanxingdui Ruins were damaged because of the severe earthquake hit on May 12th, 2008.

In Dujiangyan view spot, the most serious damage happened to Erwang Temple. The gate and many halls of the temple collapsed.

Several buildings of Sanxingdui Museum were damaged a little but the cultural relics were not damaged.

The Taoping Miao Village, Li County still stands after the earthquake, but some cracks can be seen in the buildings.

View spots Emai mount and Leshan were not affected by the earthquake.

National Tourism Bureau will invest 5 million Yuan to repair the attractions.

Attractions in other cities including Shanghai, Beijing, Guilin and Hong Kong are quite safe to tourists. Please feel free to visit them.
