Chaotian Gate Wharf

Chaotian Gate is in the Northeast and it is the biggest harbor along the upstream of the Yangtze River. It is said the best place to start sightseeing in Chongqing is Chaotian Gate, where the muddy, churning waters of the Yangtze meets the transparent Jialing River. You will start your cruise on Yangtze river from here. |

Wu Gorge

The Wu Gorge is a fairyland with cloud and mist. The high mountains and deep valleys of the Gorge, maintains the moisture of air and form the most beautiful and mysterious pictures - the humid cloud climb slowing up the mountains and sometime become fine rains, and sometime turn into dark cloud and sometimes heavy fog. The famous twelve peaks make a marvellous picture of this lively gorge. |

Wanzhou

Wanzhou is an important port along the river. It is the Gateway to Eastern Sichuan and functioned as a main manufacture base and distribution center for goods between Sichuan and neighbouring provinces. Wanzhou is also noted for its silk production. The largest Silk Museum in Southwest China is located here.

Qutang Gorge

With vertical cliffs of some thousand meters high as its two flanks, the Qutang Gorge is only a few dozens of meters wide just like a narrow gateway. The surging Yangtze River pours into the gateway with great momentum. Looking up towards the tops of towering precipitous mountains along the Gorge, one sees from a boat only a narrow strip of clouds and sky, but under foot the River tears on violently. |

Three Gorges Dam

Ships go through 5-stage ship locks, each ship lock is 280 meters (918 feet) long and 35 meters (114 feet) wide, with a water depth of 5 meters (16.4 feet). Supposed to handle 10,000 ton barges.
Ship lift will be a one-stage vertical lift capable of carrying a 3,000-ton passenger or cargo vessel. It takes 4 hours for us to pass through the locks eventually. |
