Local Food Restaurant
You can only find toursit menus at the tour part of Pingyao, and the service is quite poor.  In most of the restaurants, what you can do is pointing one of  the pictures on the menus, and order a food which you can find in any town of China.  This menus has been recommended to most tourist restaurants, by the natinal tourism bureau, they are told that westerners like only this standard menus for lunch!

Recommend you to walk 30 minutes to the local part of the town, where local Chinese people have their meals here.  Bingo!  So many choices!  Find a clean pleace to sit down, and tell the restaurant owner the food you like...They will understand what you mean.

WanTuZhi and KaoLaoLao is the names of two most famous meals in Pingyao, it is also the name of a good restaurant, the restaurant is at the crossraod of the town.  If you can not find the place, never mind, every restaurrant has these two meals.
