Li An Lodge, Longsheng rice terrace

Firstly this is a review of the Lodge not the locality (which was perfect). The review by SDLW, Oakland must be suspect. Just signed up, travelled all that way and no other reviews. Only positive comments, nothing even a tiny bit bad!! Well, believe what you want.

The review by Dubai-expat323 is on the button. The Lodge is not what it looks from the Web pages. It is not isolated, alone, and unique. It is on the edge of the village, attached to another hotel and very overpriced. As you can see from our travels we have stayed at plenty of upmarket resorts to make comparisons and the Lodge does not measure up in terms of value for money. It is however quite charming, the rooms a little different and comfortable.

The Lodge arranged our transport from Guilin to Long-ji and then Yangshuo. Perfect. Great vehicle, on time, good driver. The new lady manager of the Lodge did a great job. She is still getting used to her new role. The other staff, very helpful, chatty and friendly. The food was excellent. We had all inclusive (full board) and really enjoyed the Chinese cooking. Lots of new tasty dishes. I even got a wee birthday cake and a bottle of wine.

We were asked to make a review by the Lodge and I hope I have been fair. Li An Lodge is too expensive but if money is not an issue for you then take the opportunity to go and stay there.
