Sheraton Xiamen Hotel – the most friendly hotel

This must be the most friedly hotel I stayed in China during my May trip, 24 nights and 11 hotels. Not the occasional friendly hotel staff but everyone I meet. In fact I stayed at the hotel twice, in between, I left my larger lugguge with the hotel to exploring the Fujian Tulous in the countryside for a few days . On returning, I was so amazed that one of the receptionist and later one of the waitresses asked me how was my Tulou trip !

Sheraton Xiamen Hotel is a shinny high rise a fair distance from downtown and the Gulangyu ferry terminal, a good 20-30 min by taxi, but taxis are reasonably cheap. Rooms are very comfortable, clean as one would expect of Sheratons, and of decent size, and for such hotel class, internet came free ! My package also included buffet breakfast with a huge range of oriental and occidental choices. I also tried the dinner buffet once, again, most satisfying ! I did not have time nor energy to exprore the vecinity of the hotel to report what the area had to offer.
