Ramada Plaza Guangzhou

The Ramada Plaza hotel advertises as being near the East Guangdong Railways station. That is true, however, it would be impossible to find the hotel without knowing where and, more importantly, risking your life and limb to get to it. Most of the taxi drivers I engaged didn’t know its location either.

One of the other commenters said that there is no “neighbourhood”…that’s true, without a taxi/subway ride there is no place that you would want to hang out out or dine at, other than the hotel.

That being said, the staff is helpful and kind, the rooms modern and great TV channel selection. The Internet was great (it didn’t seem to have Chinese censorship blocking out the Tibetan sites) and, once you know where the subway is, it’s not too bad, again, if you don’t mind crossing 16 lanes of busy traffic to get to it.

One other surprise is that there is a swimming pool and a gymnasium.
