Lijiang Jian Nan Chun Hotel

We stayed here in October 2006, so I cannot comment on the current state of the hotel. However, since there are few reviews for this property, I thought I would add a short recommendation. Its location is great for visiting the old town of Lijiang as you are right in the centre of things, and yet you can easily escape the hordes of tourists and return to the serenity of the hotel whenever you wish.

The old town of Lijiang is lovely, the skies so clear and blue after the leaden skies elsewhere in China. It is very popular with Chinese tour groups, and the narrow streets are very crowded. Yet if you wander the back streets you will experience a different atmosphere, of every-day life away from the tourist shops.

The Lijiang Jian Nan Chun Hotel has attractive courtyards in a traditional style, providing a pleasant place to sit. We did experience noise from other rooms during our stay, request a second floor room if possible. It certainly would be my choice in Lijiang, if I were lucky enough to visit there again.
