Phoenix City Hotel Guangzhou

I would definately recommend this hotel. It is a little way from the Town and Fair venues, but they do offer a very efficient shuttle service to and from both fairs , the railway station and airport. The hotel staffs in uniform will pickup you directly from the airport for free, they even have daily shuttle bus daily to Hong Kong, only at HK$100.

When you arrive at the lobby you may think you are at the louvre !!! This is a luxury hotel by any standards. I stayed several nights during the last canton fair and was overwhelmed by the staff desire to serve you. My room at the main building was excellent as well as the bathroon.
It looks like a resort with little lakes and beautiful gardens.

The main drawback is the location. It is about 40 minutes from donwtown. So very difficult and expensive to go into the city. If you are a night animal, search for a little fun with girls after whole day business talk, look for another hotel.
