Holiday Islands Hotel Guangzhou
Just returned from 2 days stay over New Year at the Holiday Island. HRC gave me free coupon for 2-nights staying at the hotel(Thanks for HRC here, a very nice agent). Have to say had an absolutely fantastic stay. I stayed with my wife. This is a luxury golf resort by any standards. My room was excellent and face to 18-hole golf court. The breakfast was good too and offered much food, you do not need to worry about lunch. The staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful.
Holiday Islands Hotel Guangzhou is a little way from the Town and Fair venues, but they do offer a very efficient shuttle service to and from both fairs , the railway station and airport. The hotel staffs in uniform will pickup you directly from the airport for free.

I stayed overnight on a business visit and I can honestly say it is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Beyond the exquisite room was unparalleled service. This is what a 5 star hotel should be like! The staff were extremely friendly and the food delicious. I honestly have nothing to say that could ever be bad about this hotel. Stay here if you can afford it! It is SO worth it!
Talking with friends attending Canton Fair, we all agree that Holiday Islands Hotel is the best! It is 45 minutes drive from Downtown Guangzhou, so what? We came here for business, tired after a whole day business inspection, need to talk to more faces tomorrow. We need a good sleep.
This was my 3rd trip to China (not counting HK), and my first trip to Guangzhou. I’ve stayed in 10 Chinese hotels before this, all 4 or 5 star. This hotel is pretty standard for China. But you have to keep in mind that Guangzhou gets very few Western tourists. So I was impressed that this hotel was better than equal hotels in Beijing or Suzhou.
I was with a group who self booked our 21 rooms. We were in standard rooms. Room amenities were standard. The smoker in our group was able to get the hotel to unlock her window so she could have it open throughout our stay.
The massages at the health center are enough to warrant staying at this hotel any time. The 90 minute “big bucket” was heaven. Note: They say “foot massage”, but it includes back, neck, shoulders, arms, head, & legs too. All while fully dressed sitting on an ottoman or in a chair. Heaven!
